Autumn Weddings

Over the weekend I attended a beautiful wedding ceremony for a close friend. This was my first (what I call) 'adult wedding' as I wasn't just tagging along with parents - it was actually my friend getting married and I had MY OWN invitation with MY name on it! How exciting!

I didn't quite know what to expect from an Autumn wedding but I couldn't believe how beautiful everything was. From the table centrepieces, to the bride's dress I was completely stunned at the attention to detail.

I struggled deciding what to wear to this occasion given that we are now into colder seasons, but as the day was bright and dry I was daring and wore a mini dress! I bought this gorgeous piece from Pretty Little Thing a couple months back where I remember being so excited in anticipation of the perfect occasion to wear it to, and what better event to christen it at!  Thankfully I also had shoes which were the perfect colour match and did me a great favour by being mostly comfortable.

A massive congratulations to Alex & Ed 🥂🍾

Basic Midi

One of the most simple holiday outfits chucked together from a basic midi dress I've kept in the back of my wardrobe for the last few years, and a vibrant fuscia bag. If I could give you just one style tip, it would be when dressing up basics to ensure that your main accessories are bright and bold and add a point of interest (although remember that less is more so not too much colour).

I wore this outfit to dine in at the  Vintage Cheese & Wine Bar which served up the most amazing food. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos as the atmosphere was quite dark yet cosy, but yeah, fantastic!

Calm Camelia

As you may have noticed; this time last week I was happily sunning myself in beautiful Portugal.  This was my first time in the country and I was overwhelmed with how beautiful it was, in particular how vibrant it could be in places where gorgeous blooms flooded their walkways.

Exploring with one of my closest friends, we frequently walked through our local town of Alvor and were presented with picturesque beaches and landscapes which I completely didn't expect to see - you'll see those images over my next few blog posts.

For now, here are my favourite images from our trip taken on the grounds of our hotel with some gorgeous camellias setting the scene.

Gingham & Frills

I constantly go through phases of loving bold pattern then switching back to minimalism but right now I'm so into bolds!

Here is a beautifully bold dress from PYT that I purchased a couple of weeks back anticipating this incredible Summer heat!  Twinned in style with a deep neckline AND ruffles, it's the perfect fit for my wardrobe so I had to have it!

I teamed the dress with this cute little dusty pink bag which I picked up in the Warehouse sale for £25 and it's now become my go to day bag and makes a pretty amazing clutch too! The shoes are Lacoste which I also picked up in the sale.

Playing With my New Camera

Hey everyone!

It's been so long since I've posted anything, however I've invested in a new camera which has completely boosted my want to create lots more interesting content!  I've been mind mapping so many new ideas, so I hope you enjoy this little re-introduction to my blog where  I can't wait to be uploading higher quality images, with a look and theme that I'm so much more happy with which I hope will be reflected in the types and quantity of post I hope to be uploading.

The camera I've taken the plunge to invest in is the Olympus Pen F which I purchased from John Lewis. I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with this little beauty, but I'll wait to explain much more in another post!

My boyfriend and I took the Pen out to have a bit of a play at my local country park in Swindon, where we're lucky enough to have free reign of some gorgeous landscapes and architecture.    At the park there are a handful of Cotswold stone buildings which we had free reign to browse the grounds of which have made for some beautiful backdrops. This has been enhanced by a couple features on the Pen which allowed us to edit the brightness of the shot prior to uploading it to any editing software - result!!  Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming post which will be all about finding my feet with my shiny new camera!

Decadence, by Marc Jacobs

With its name being such an indulgent giveaway, Decadence by Marc Jacobs is the latest fragrance to adorn my collection.  With a rich and warm woody scent, the top notes in Decadence include Italian plum known for its sensuality, alongside saffron and iris.

The revolutionary design of its bottle inspired by the iconic handbags at Marc Jacobs exudes opulence, and reflects the designer's fun and playful personality. With a luxe gold chain, and a silk-touch tassel, every detail of this products aesthetic has been thoroughly considered.  The outer packaging was another element which was very impressive with a velvet-feel box, and contrasting metallic typography.

Wearing this perfume gives me a lot of pleasure due to its long-lasting nature.  I regularly receive compliments on how beautiful the perfume is aesthetically as well as it's smell.  With such a unique and recognizable scent, I know it'll be one I continue to buy and wear out on the most special of occasions spent with loved ones, and my closest friends.

A Mac for Spring

For the past few years, spring after spring my wardrobe has been craving the addition of a beige/brown mac or trench coat, and finally I have found one which I'd say was a combination of the two!  My trouble has laid with not being able to find one that's long enough to suit my lanky arms and legs, but FINALLY, I've found one that fits perfectly with thanks to my lovely boyfriend Sandy who pointed it out in the sale!

I imagine you're going to be seeing a lot of this coat...
